Fall is one of the best times of year here in Montana. The days are still long, the smoke has cleared, and the temperatures have cooled down. It also means, it’s hunting season. A chance to wander around in the mountains, explore our public lands, while moving quietly and methodically through the landscape. It provides an opportunity to see the environment and the wildlife in a way you wouldn’t get to see if you were doing anything else. Bonus, you might get the chance to fill your freezer. For me, archery season is my favorite. The elk are talking and the woods are quiet.
While my freezer is still empty, I added some images to my hard drive. Here’s a few of my favorite photos from this season’s adventures.
